Skiving Machine for Cylindrical Gears Gleason Corporation, Booth 423 Gleason's 100PS power skiving machine accommodates cylindrical external gears ranging to 100 mm in diameter and internal gears ranging to 150 mm in diameter. The machine is said to improve performance and quality, particularly in shaping, forming, pressing and broaching operations, and the skiving process has the potential to be used as a "green" fnishing operation. The company offers a variety of forged tool gear types, including spur with 0.040" minimum stock for a light hob cut; spur with 0.008" minimum stock for grinding; helical with 0.040" minimum stock for a light hob cut; spiral bevels with 0.020" minimum stock; and net spur gears and splines to fnish size.
